My credit is wrecked. How do I get a personal loan?

There are a few things you can do to solve your problem.

1) Talk to your bank. They may not be able to give you the loan, but they will guide you. They have access to all your records and financial statements. They will tell you what you need and where to go. It is best to do this through a small bank, one you may be doing business with. The larger ones are not going to care about helping you. They only care about the money. Talk to a small bank.

2) Do your own research. The web is full of lenders who are both good and bad. Do not file with anyone who will bombard you with phone calls and emails. Look for someone who has a good reputation and history with their clients, not to mention the BBB. They have to be registered with the BBB.

3) Ask if your lender will pull a soft pull or hard pull. The soft pull will not have any effect on you or your score.

4) Does the person charge an “origination fee?” Some call it a service fee. Either way, you have to what the rate is. These fees can go up to 5% of the total loan. It will be deducted from the value of your loan. It is best to know this going in.

Always be responsible when you do something like this. Responsible borrowing will help you to go from wrecked credit to good credit.
